Is it possible to impliment a search tool in the member directory to search for a user based on their age? Thanks.

why would we want to do that. we can look at all profiles by iver typing ibn the id number or the username! and some people may not have there full age showing
I think is good idea because when people search by age they will be able to find people with simmilar interests, hobbies etc.
Hmm if you only stick to your own age group you will miss out on a lot..
I know. It doesn't mean that i would use the feature but i can understand why it might be useful for some people so when somebody suggest a good feature even if is not useful for me i post because the more post we have for something the more likely it is to happen.

i think that searching by age would be cool it can also let you know what kinds of people actually get on here.
Ok...wow, guys, it was a pretty simple suggestion, and to step out and say "I don't like that idea" and "Why would you want to do that?" is not only rude but also is contrary to what lots of people probably think. If you don't agree with a suggestion, please don't rant on about it...truthfully, many profile-searching and member directory services enable you to search by age. MSN, Yahoo and Orkut (from Google) are examples. If you don't like the feature, don't use it. But personally, I think it would be useful for many things: finding people with similar interests, and yes...knowing which people you should flirt with and which you shouldn't, finding out whether you're likely to be able to talk to the person about school-related or work-related activities, etc.
I have to agree with grant, I mean, isn't this a suggestion board? I think it's a pretty good idea, but unfortunately, some people don't put their year of birth. I would've liked this feature myself, as it is, I was searching for people in the 40 plus range, and I had to go through the profile of every user listed on the zone. I would be using this feature every time new people came to the zone. I can tell you, it took me about a week to go through all the profiles on the zone.

make it a party of three, age gender and location. that could help friends find each other
i think searching by age is ok i mean sometimes some people want to talk to people there age and then they may talk to an older person at other times so what the hell is the big deal here?

I agree with Mikey, although searching by location would be kind of hard, being that not everyone wants to put their location. But ideally, for this, we could have like a combo/list box that has all the countries listed, and then also a choice that says other and an edit field for those who want to put something more creative. then for the search feature, in the case of location, we could have the combo/list box with all the countries, plus an "any" choice for all results, and a "not specified" choice for the "other" choices. that would be cool, but I don't know how much work that would be. But I think having that choice to search by specifics like at least age and location would be nice for when someone is searching for certain people that they feel they can relate more to. It'd make it much faster than searching thru every profile. *smiles*
posting again to say. that location wouldn't work that well. most people don't put there locations and if they do its something stupid. like in there room or in moonland
